finally it’s done by me After a period of month or perhaps years you’ve gathered information, weighed options and finally decided that a lap band is for you. It’s a wonderful feeling to take that 1st step in changing something in your life from a negative to a positive. Having said that, the lap band surgery is not sufficient on its own to help you in getting to the desired weight. Changing old exercise programs and eating habits is the secret to success. The following a couple of points to consider as you make this journey from flab to fab.
Lap Band
1. IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FOOD,
We don’t get fat from not eating. People gain weight when they eat food that isn’t healthy. Eating things in excessive quantities is more relevant here than eating specific items that shouldn’t be eaten. Our first priority even before the lap band surgery should be to sit down and convince ourselves that we ARE going to change our eating habits in order to achieve what we set out to do in the first place. What in tarnation was that about? To reduce Fats.
Number Two. Everyone needs to exercise, whether they have a lap band or not.
Lap Band Surgery
Most people don’t enjoy exercising, it’s a universal truth. Overweight people especially don’t like to exercise but if you’ve gone so far as to get a lap band then you may as well go the extra mile, “no pun intended.” Start with something you really enjoy doing, start slowly. Walking is the best start off exercise I know of. It’s easy to use and inexpensive. Walking with good shoes and a positive attitude will provide more benefits than just weight loss. If you enjoy going out to dance, then do it. You should dance a little bit everyday to some of your favorite dance music. Once your workout has made you feel stronger and given you increased energy, it’s time to add resistance to your routine. One should start his day by doing a little bit of what he likes. Make it habit and once you do, you’ll miss it when you have to skip a day.

3. Never forget that attitude is a huge part of the solution.
we know to eat healthy foods that are good for us, in moderation and we know to exercise a little everyday the glue that’s going to hold it all together is called “attitude.” We must remember that our attitude and feelings about something play a major role in our success over the long-term. You require positive reinforcement. Every morning when you get in front of your mirror and start your morning routine, tell yourself that this day you will keep your promise to yourself and do all the things you know you need to do in order to achieve your weight loss goal. Even with a lap band, its you and your attitude that are responsible in the end for making it work. You, and only you, can achieve it and no one else.
4. CREATE A SUPPORT SYSTEM.
Even if you have or don’t have a lap band, what really matters if friends and family. There for us no matter what and in a large part surrounding yourself with positive people will help you reach your goals much quicker. Be able to have fun and be around people you enjoy being with it a major plus. The more you move, the more you lose and just go when friends say to go. Let your friends and family know exactly what you hope to achieve and enlist their support. There will be those who try to sabotage you and once you realize who they are shy away from them until you feel strong enough to say no to their unhealthy eating habits.
Everything you’ve done, everything you’re doing, it’s all for you. You made the decision to get the lap band, you’ve got it now and it’s up to you to do everything that u can to reshape not only your body, but your eating habits, exercise routines, attitudes and sometimes friends. Everything needs to work together for your overall good. Remember your time is valuable, so put in the effort to make your efforts productive. Maybe one day in the future you might be able to help someone else also find success. Enjoy the new you!
